Jacob wanted to glitter something after he saw the little CAKE TOPPER I made the other day... so, when I was ordering a few treats for his goodie bags, I searched around for sea creatures that would work for glittering with a 7 (almost 8) year old, and found the PERFECT THINGS!
These babies are 7 1/2 - 11 1/2 inches long and only about a dollar each, I was sold! Before they arrived, we needed to pick up some glitter. Now, glitter and I have a very long & happy history... normally I use ART GLITTER for my stationery, but because I needed larger amounts for this project, we headed over to MICHAELS and bought some of MARTHA'S glitter, which of course is great. When the sea creatures finally did show up on our doorstep, we tore the box open and because it was so nice outside, we took them out with all our supplies and got to work!
It was so fun, and I totally love how they came out! We plan to use them to decorate the house for J's party! I highly recommend doing this with your kids, there are so many things you can glitter up! You can take cheesy to fabulous in just a few minutes! It's so satisfying and the kids will *love* it crafting with mom! (I highly recommend doing it outside!) Of course, if you're not into that sort of thing you can always purchase yourself some pretty, sparkling bling over HERE, where you can also buy your very own MUSTACHE ON A STICK! How great is that!? :D
Anyway, here are some pictures of our glitter fun!
