I thought I would share some pics from the Princess Party that we threw for my sweet little niece's 5th birthday! We had the party at my house so I got to decorate everything! Now, if you don't know.. I live in a house with 2 boys, so pink & girly is not something I usually get to do... oh, we've had dinasoar parties, deep sea parties, train parties etc. but have never done a pink princess party, and I have to say I *loved* it! ^_^
My mom came over and helped me out with everything and even made the cake, {seen above with the birthday girl!} which looked and tasted sooo good! Mmmmm!
We made a paper banner with large white glittery letters that said, "Happy Birthday" and a few smaller paper banners too {made with the scraps from the large banner} for decoration elsewhere.
I've had the box of Martha Stewart tissue paper pom poms in my closet for EVER, and and thought that this was the perfect time to use them! We hung them from the trees as you can see and it really added a nice festive touch!
We also put the rocking horse that my husbands grandpa made outside for the girls to take a photo on {which we will then use for thank you cards} He looked super cute out there in 'the wild' and the girls loved posing on him! :P
Nearly everything was pink! We even set out 2 bowls of Pink Strawberry Marshmallows! Truth be told, I had planned on mixing them with real strawberries, but ran out of time and only got the marshmallows on!
Even the DISHWATER the day before the party {while making the cake} was PINK! I had to take a picture, I mean, how often do you see PINK dishwater!?? It was almost too pretty to drain! :P
Now on to the goodie bags. ^_^ Putting goodie bags together is one of my favorite things to do when throwing a party. We didn't have time to order anything online, which I normally love to do for these so you can get exactly what you need and many times at great prices! Still, I love how they turned out!
I glittered the '5' & their names on the front of the bag. I wish it'd shown up better in the photo's. I love glittery letters! :(
We also used double sided tape to add the tissue paper fluff around the tops, which I love.
Here's what was inside:
Hershey Kisses in clear box adorned with glittery "5"
Ring pop
Pixie sticks
Sparkly necklace & ring in pink jewelry box
Princess stickers
Lipgloss Locket w/ personalized packaging
Cute pencils
A set of personalized stationery
and of course a sweet little crown!
Not show are the M&M's we got that came out in pastel colored tins for Easter {Seen below} Somehow they just didn't get into the above photo.
I always like to put one 'special' thing in goodie bags I make. In this case, that was the the personalized stationery sets I made. I really loved how they came out, though again the photo's just dont do justice to them!
All in all, the party was a lot of fun & super, super girly, which I must admit.. I totally loved! ^_^ I hope you enjoy the pics!
